Lalla Quotes
Lalla, also known as Lal Ded, was a fourteenth-century Kashmiri mystic poet and philosopher in the Trika Shaivite tradition, and the founder of the philosophical and devotional tradition of Kashmiri vakhs, or sacred sayings. Her short verses, transmitted orally for centuries before being collected, articulate a powerful non-dualist philosophy in which the divine reality is not separate from the world but the very ground from which the world arises and into which the realized soul returns. The quotes below are attributed to Lalla, organized by topic.

My goal is to ensure that these women receive care, are surrounded by all the psychological and social support they need, regain their dignity, and can lead a healthy life like all other women. They do not deserve the stigma they face, and their rights to health and decent social treatment must be guaranteed.”
