Vacaspati Misra Quotes

Vacaspati Misra was an Indian philosopher of the tenth century and the most learned commentator of his age, a Maithila scholar who wrote authoritative commentaries on every major school of classical Indian philosophy except the Buddhist and the Carvaka, and was honored with the title sarvatantrasvatantra, the master of all systems. His Bhamati commentary on Sankara's Brahma Sutra Bhasya gave its name to the Bhamati subschool of Advaita Vedanta, while his Tattvavaisaradi on the Yoga Sutras and his Nyayavarttikatatparyatika on the Nyaya tradition shaped the orthodox readings of those schools for centuries afterward.
